Tele Pizza

We went to eat supper at TelePizza in Granada. Our hosts were Ezequiel and Diana Chalupa.
I must say that the pizza was a lot better than Pizza Hot in Chinandega. They have some really good varieties of pizza. This Hawaiian pizza cost C$115 (about $6.50). Add a few beverages and a good time was had by all!!! Thumbs up for TelePizza!!!
Fuimos a cenar en TelePizza en Granada. Nos invitaron Ezequiel y Diana Chalupa. Debo decir que la pizza aquí está mucho mejor que la de Pizza Hot en Chinandega. Tienen una muy buena variedad de pizza. Esta hawaiana cuesta $C115 (aprox. $6.50). Agrega unas bebidas y todos lo pasamos bien!!! Aplausos para TelePizza!!!

Churros

This young women in a wheelchair sells churros (a bread type snack) for a living. They cost C$1 a piece (around $0.05). I bought 10 for $C10. Umm umm!!

Esta mujer jóven en silla de ruedas vende churros para su sostento. Cuestan C$1 c/u (+-$0.05). Compré 10 por $C10. Ricos!!!!

More twins/Más gemelas

I found another pair of little Nicaraguan girls - twins. I couldn't get them to smile for the camera but here they are with their bottles!!!

Me encontré con una parejita de niñas Nicaraguense - gemelas. No pude hacer que sonrieran para la foto...pero aquí están con sus pachas!!!

José and Manuel didn't have a lot of time to talk. They had to hammer out 40 pairs of shoes today. Hush Puppies they are not....

Peanuts/Maní

A lot of farmers plant peanuts in the Chinandega, Nicaragua area. Here is a recently planted field and an upclose picture of the peanut plant...and then the delicious final product!

Bastante agricultores siembran el maní en la zona de Chinandega, Nicaragua. Aquí hay un campo recién sembrado y una foto de la planta de maní de cerca...y luego el delicioso producto final!!!

Bean drying/secando los frijoles

These little girls were watching over the beans that were spread out to dry on this basketball/soccer court. After a bit in the sun, they are swept up and put back in their bags...waiting to be eaten over the next few months.

Estas chavalas estaban vigilando los frijoles aquí tirados en la cancha de basquetbol/futbol. Después de un tiempo en el sol, se recoger y se vuelvan a meter en sus sacos...esperando ser comidos en los siguientes meses.

Nicaraguan fast food/Fritanga Nica

We ate at the famous Chico Tripa's restaurant in Granada the other day. They have a wonderful way of preparing pork, chicken or beef as you can see in the pix. Fritanga in Nicaragua is one of the things you will miss the most when you are no longer here!!!!

Comimos en el famoso restaurante de Chico Tripa en Granada. Los cortes de cerdo, pollo y res son ricos, como pueden apreciar en las fotos. La fritanga de Nicaragua es una de las cosas que más falta te va a hacer cuando estés lejos de aqui!
