Carne desmenuzada<…>Shredded beef

Here’s another Nicaraguan favorite – shredded beef.  As you can see, it is made with plenty of condiments, including green peppers, onions and a slew of ‘secret sauces’.  Serve it with ripe boiled plantains and white rice and you will have one happy camper!!!

He aquí otro favorite de Nicaragua – carne desmenuzada.  Como mirás, se hace con abundantes condimentos, incluyendo chiltoma, cebolla y unas cuantas ‘salsas secretas’.  Servila con plátanos maduros cocidos y arroz blanch y tendrás un invitado muy felíz!!!

Pochote tree<...>Arbol de Pochote

 

Here is dangerously looking but quite common tree in Nicaragua called Pochote.  It is not 'climber friendly' as you can see from it's impressive thorns.

He aquí, de apariencia peligrosa, un arbol bastante común en Nicaragua llamado Pochote.  No es apto para los aficionados de trepar arboles, como podés ver de sus espinos impresionantes.

Las Isletas de Granada

We had a nice day on Lake Nicaragua (Colcibolca) visiting Las Isletas de Granada.  It was a strangely overcast January day and even rained a couple of times.  However, the hot fish lunch and great views made it well worth while.

Tuvimos un día agradable en el Lago de Nicaragua (Cocibolca), visitando a Las Isletad de Granada.  El clima estuvo raro, todo gris y hasta llovió un par de veces.  Sin embargo, el almuerzo de pescado frito y los vistazos hicieron que valiera la pena.

Pizzería Los Ranchitos is another option for pizza and international cuisine that you will have on the island of Ometepe, in Moyogalpa.  The pizza is good and reasonably priced.  The beer is cold...what more could you want?
